Qualification Description

The UEE30820 Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician is a nationally recognised qualification designed to prepare individuals for a career as a licensed electrician in Australia. This comprehensive course equips students with the skills and knowledge required to install, test, repair, and maintain electrical systems and equipment in a wide range of settings, including residential, commercial, and industrial environments.

 

The course covers essential competencies such as electrical wiring, circuitry, fault diagnosis, safety procedures, and compliance with Australian electrical standards. Training also includes interpreting electrical diagrams, using hand and power tools, and working with renewable energy systems.

Ideal for apprentices and those with relevant industry experience seeking formal recognition, this qualification is a crucial step towards gaining an electrical licence through the relevant state or territory regulator.

Packaging Rules

A total of 1,110 weighting points comprising:

990 core weighting points listed below; plus

120 general elective weighting points.

 

General elective weighting points are to be selected from the Group A general elective units listed below, or up to 40 general elective weighting points, may be selected, with appropriate contextualisation, from any relevant nationally endorsed Training Package or accredited course, provided that selected units contribute to the vocational outcome of the qualification. Previously assigned weighting points are listed in the UEE Electrotechnology Training Package Companion Volume Implementation Guide (CVIG), if not listed, weighting points will be 10 points.

 

There are units of competency within this qualification that contain pre-requisites. Units of competency that have a pre-requisite requirement are identified by this symbol *. Refer directly to the units of competency to identify pre-requisite requirements to ensure all are complied with. A list of all pre-requisites is also provided in the UEE Pre-requisite Companion Volume.

Where imported units are selected, care must be taken to ensure all pre-requisite units specified are complied with.

Evidence Collection

After you submit your portfolio, one of our affiliated registered training organizations (RTOs) will evaluate it. If the assigned assessor requires more information, they will contact you. If any skill gaps are identified, the RTO may provide a trainer to help you enhance your skills at no cost.

Certification!

RPL Fast Track works with Registered Training Organizations to provide nationally recognized qualifications in Australia. These qualifications are equivalent to those obtained through full-time studies and can also be used for licensing applications.
